Why this watch exists

A watch is no longer needed to tell the time.

The time is on your phone, on your laptop, in your car, on the wall. And yet we wear a watch. Not for the time, but for what the object itself is.

There are times that do matter. A Muslim's day doesn't revolve around office hours or meetings. It revolves around five moments that are not determined by us, and to which everything else adapts. These are the times that count. And none of your screens show them as you need them.

Thus, the watch returns to what it once was: not a display of the hour, but an instrument for the moment.

For this purpose, the first instruments within our own tradition were made. Al-Battani, Al-Khwarizmi, and the scholars of the House of Wisdom studied and measured the heavens to determine prayer times. They worked with the greatest care and craftsmanship thanks to their faith, not despite their faith.

MESSOUD exists to make the watch that instrument again. A form you already know and appreciate, with a dial that shows prayer times and the Qibla. In all serenity, without having to prove anything.

Faith and beauty have never been at odds. Accuracy is a form of respect.
