Why MESSOUD exists.
I am Houssain. I love things that are right: well-thought-out, precise, beautifully made. That’s why watches have always held my attention. But I was looking for one that didn't just suit me, but also meant something, and I couldn't find it.
The prayer-time gadgets I came across were made to function, not to be beautiful. I thought: this deserves more attention and love than it gets. What the great watch houses are for the world, should also exist for Muslims: something beautiful, that suits you, and has meaning.
But the real reason is more personal. My head is often full. Work, family, sports, a series in the evening. The days fly by, and the day doesn’t take prayer times into account. Performing prayers on time is the goal, and I knew that. But in between everything, I noticed how easily the moment slips by—not because you don’t care, but because nothing reminded you. Since I’ve been wearing a prayer watch, that’s different. I know when it’s time, even when I’m not yet in a place where I can pray. Prayer no longer fades into the background. That is what I wanted to commit to.
We consciously work with small stocks. We wear and test every series here ourselves first, and we prefer to grow steadily rather than becoming big all at once.

Does MESSOUD work in my city?
Yes. The watch knows the prayer times for more than 6,000 cities worldwide. We set it to your city before we ship it. You unpack it, put it on, and it is correct immediately.
How accurate are the prayer times?
The watch is set to the Muslim World League by default, which is a widely used method. Do the times differ from those of your mosque or what you are accustomed to? No problem. You can choose a different method yourself, or adjust the times by the minute. This way, the watch runs exactly as you prefer.

My mosque has different times. Can I follow those?
Yes. Mosques use different methods. Choose the same method as your mosque, or adjust the times yourself. This way, your watch will be synchronized with your mosque.
Am I hearing the reminder? And does the rest of the group hear it too?
At every prayer time, the watch gives a short tone. Just enough for you to notice, not a loud adhan that fills the entire room. If you want silence, for example in a meeting, you can turn the sound off.
Should I charge it?
No. The battery lasts for about two years. After that, a watchmaker will replace it. The watch works without an app, without the internet, and without a phone.
Can I perform wudu with my watch on?
Yes. It is water-resistant up to 3 ATM, so wudu, washing hands, and rain are no problem. We do not recommend swimming or showering.
And if I travel?
You can change the city on the watch in a few steps. The manual explains exactly how. If you are going to another continent, choose the method commonly used there, for example, Umm al-Qura for Mecca and Medina.
What if you don't like it?
You have 30 days to return the watch. Returns are free. In addition, you have a 2-year warranty, including on the display of prayer times.
